Brief and specific list of personal combat heroism or achievements: participant in the Patriotic War since July 10th, 1942 to August 30th, 1942. Commander of a tank platoon of the Independent Special Tank Battalion of the 31st Army, Western Front.

On August 31st, 1942 he was lightly wounded in the area of the abdominal ring of the left hip in the Vekshino village of the Zubtsovo region of the Kalinin oblast.

From September 25th to October 10th, 1943, he was the commander of a KV tank in the 43rd Independent Guards Tank Brigade on the Kalinin and Bryansk Fronts.

From October 10th, 1943, to November 25th, 1943, he worked at the repair yard of the 11th Guards Army.

From November 25th, 1943, to January 23rd, 1944, he was the commander of a platoon in the 30th Heavy Tank Breakthrough Regiment of the 6th Guards Army in the 2nd Baltic Front.

On January 23rd, 1944, he was heavily wounded in his chest by a complete bullet perforation of the chest cavity and shrapnel wound to the stomach. 

He was judged conditionally suitable for service, 2nd class.

He is nominated for the state award of the Order of the Red Star as a participant of the Patriotic War, wounded in the fighting for our Motherland.

Stogniy was down, but not out. He didn't get the Order of the Red Star, since you have to do a lot more than get shot a bunch for one of those. However, he didn't just sit out the rest of the war in the training regiment. Nearly two years later, Stogniy, now as a senior lieutenant, was doing quite well considering his wounds.

"Commanding a platoon of heavy tanks, Guards Senior Lieutenant Stogniy performed his task of clearing a path for the 365th Rifle Division for two days, and completed it successfully. Near the Tszisi station, having met an organized enemy group, comrade Stogniy dispersed it with his platoon, having killed 15 Japanese soldiers. By correctly organizing his personnel, comrade Stogniy ensured exemplary execution of his task. In combat, he is brave and decisive.

Conclusion: worthy of the Order of the Red Star.
